Gareth Flowers Originally from Arlingon, Virginia, American trumpeter Gareth Flowers has lived in New York since 2000. He studied at the Juilliard School, and made his Lincoln Center debut performing Haydn’s trumpet concerto in 2003 with the Juilliard Orchestra. In the same year, he began performing with ICE, earning a reputation in contemporary music that has led him to play with the San Francisco Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic, and American Symphony Orchestra.He greatly enjoys making music on a more intimate scale as well, and has performed with the IRIS Orchestra, Camerata Pacifica, the Knights, and the TILT brass band. He has recorded for John Adams, Philip Glass, Anthony Braxton, David Byrne, Anthony Coleman, duYun, and many others. He also writes and produces electro-acoustic music in a variety of styles. Im selben Jahr begann er mit dem ICE aufzutreten und machte sich so einen Namen als Interpret von Neuer Musik. In der Folge trat er mit dem San Francisco Symphony, dem New York Philharmonic, dem Philadelphia Orchestra, dem Baltimore Symphony, dem Seoul Philharmonic und dem American Symphony Orchestra auf. Daneben tritt er im kleineren Rahmen mit dem IRIS Orchestra, der Camerata Pacifica, den Knights und der Blechbläsergruppe TILT auf. Er spielte unter anderem Aufnahmen für John Adams, Philip Glass, Anthony Braxton, David Byrne, Anthony Coleman und duYun ein. Außerdem schreibt und produziert er elektro-akustische Musik unterschiedlicher Richtungen. |
