Cécile Daroux
Cécile Daroux accomplished her musical studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris in both classical and contemporary repertoires, and also within the department of improvised music. In 1990, she received the first Prize at the International Competition of Darmstadt and started a research at IRCAM on “Flute and XXth century”. In 2000, she won the Young Concert Artists in New York and played as soloist under Pierre Boulez at Lincoln Center (2001). She performs regularly with the Ensemble Sospeso at Carnegie Hall and Miller Theater. Her activities as soloist have led her to collaborations with present day composers such as Berio, Boulez, Dusapin, Kurtag, Carter, Eötvös, Ligeti or Xenakis and to commission many new works using recent technologies (IRCAM). She was invited by Kent Nagano to premiered the flute version of dialogue de l’ombre double by Pierre Boulez in San Francisco (2002). |
