Juanjo Guillem
Juanjo Guillem received his musical education – attaining the highest grades – in the conservatories of Valencia, Barcelona, Madrid, Strasbourg and Manchester. His particular speciality is music from the 20th century onwards – a large number of composers have dedicated works to him – and he has given recitals in Spain and elsewhere in Europe as well as in Asia
and America. He has belonged to both the L’Orquesta Simfònica
del Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Orquesta Sinfónica
de Madrid. He is a founder member of the Neopercusión ensemble – and of the Centro de Estudios which bears the same name, and he has been focusing his teaching activities there for some years now. He has taught at the conservatories in Madrid and Zaragoza, regularly teaches student orchestras and has additionally taken part in summer courses and master classes all around the world. Amongst the recordings of his music Neopercusión has released his Y todo esto me ha ocurrido por culpa de la música and Deus ex machina. Currently he is the soloist at the Orquesta Nacional de España and has, since 2006, been a guest teacher at the Conservatorio Superior of the Islas
Baleares. Juanjo Guillem plays exclusively on percussion instruments made by Zildjian, Malletech, Novapercusió-
Remo and Promusin. |
