Thus comes the initial idea of the piece: eight cellists who, because of their new position in space, dim and blur the orchestral convention, trickling what seemed to be a homogeneous group into separate voices which end up confronting the wholeness from which they spring. It is the threshold of a conflict, and over this threshold leans and balances itself what could be alluded to as the production of sounds. Ortzi Isilak Ramon Lazkano took two quotations from Nietzsche as the thought and the expression of the sound environment from which the musical idea slowly emerges. These two references may be read philosophically and artistically but can also plainly allude to a certain figurative affinity with the contents of the work. Ilunkor The five linked up sections of Ilunkor seek after the mineral and earthly ideas which were at the onset of their being designed. Carving sounds, creating volumes and crests out of silence, saturating harmony and carrying dynamics and ranges to extremes, conceiving shape as a maze of breakings and windows and time as an expanded dimension… Hauskor Der Ausdruck Hauskor bezeichnet im Baskischen die Qualität von etwas, das die Tendenz aufweist, in Staub zu zerfallen, zu zerbrechen oder durch die innere Dynamik des Materials, dem es zukommt, auseinander zu fallen. So kam mir die erste Idee des Stückes: Acht Cellisten, die durch ihre neue Stellung die Konvention des Orchesters durcheinander bringen, indem sie als separate Stimmen etwas vor sich hin sagen das wie ein homogener Block erscheint, und sich zugleich der Totalität widersetzt, aus der sie herausragen. Es handelt sich um die Schwelle eines Konflikts, und über diese Schwelle beugt, wiegt und erahnt sich die Produktion des Klanges. Ortzi Isilak zwei Zitate von Nietzsche sind der Ausgangspunkt der Überlegungen zum Klarinettenkonzert, die zugleich die Klangwelt ausdrückten, in die sich eine musikalische Idee einschreibt, die langsam empor taucht. Die beiden Zitate können im philosophischen oder künstlerischen Sinn gelesen werden, haben aber auch eine gewisse bildliche Affinität zu dem was im Werk geschieht. Ilunkor Die fünf ineinander übergehenden Teile von Ilunkor versuchen, die mineralischen und erdbezogenen Vorstellungen einzuholen, die am Ursprung ihrer Konzeption lagen. Den Klang wie Stein behauen, Volumen und Kanten aus der Stille ziehen, die Harmonik übersteuern, die Dynamik und die Register bis zu den Extremen führen, die Form wie ein Labyrinth auffassen, mit Brüchen und Fenstern, und die Zeit als eine endlos hinausgezogene Dimension. |
