Donatienne Michel-Dansac Studied music, both piano and violin, at the Nantes Conservatory from the age of seven and received a prize in solfege at the age of fourteen. In 1985, she was accepted in the voice class of the Paris National Conservatory and graduated with a prize in 1990. Since then she has performed the baroque repertory with the Arts Florissants and the English Baroque Orchestra; and sang Berio’s Laborintus II with Ensemble Intercontemporain under Pierre Boulez. She has performed with many international Ensembles, Orchestras -including: Itinéraire, ICTUS, London Sinfonietta, Orchestre National de France and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France-and Festivals. She has also performed a number of operas including Pelléas et Mélisande, of which she gave the first Moscow performance in 1988 under Manuel Rosenthal. Since 1993 she has worked closely with IRCAM and has consequently given the first performances of pieces by Manoury, Dusapin, Romitelli, Lanza, Aperghis, Leroux, Francesconi. In the summer of 2006 she gave the first performance of Aperghis’ Contretemps in Salzburg with the Klangforum Wien, and in the same year, she sang the first performance of Philippe Leroux’s Apocalypsis. Earlier this year she performed Martin Matalon’s piece for solo voice and electronics: Trace VII. She performed in a medium-length film musica da camera, produced by Philippe Beziat as well as in tempête sous un crâne by Catherine Maximoff. She has also given many recitals with the pianist Vincent Leterme, including a successful performance in New York; and she works with the Sillages Ensemble of which she has been a member since 1995. In 2009, she created the quatuor B4MIX for voice, flute, saxophone and harp. In 2010, she will performed “tourbillons” show for solo voice for one month in Théâtre du Rond-Point in Paris, will be the soloist of his next opera “les Boulingrins”, in Paris Opera Comique. She has recorded Romitelli’s En trance with the National Orchestra of the Italian Radio conducted by Peter Rundel for Stradivarius. The live recording of the first complete performance of Récitations by Aperghis is published by Col-legno. Several of her recordings have won prizes. She teaches all over the world. Sie begann als Siebenjährige ihre musikalische Ausbildung in den Fächern Klavier und Geige. Vier Jahre später wurde sie in die Gesangsschule der Oper in Nantes aufgenommen und wirkte während der folgenden acht Spielzeiten in zahlreichen Produktionen mit, in mehreren davon bereits als Solistin. Später wechselte sie ans Konservatorium in Paris, das sie 1990 abschloss. Seit Beginn ihrer Laufbahn nimmt die zeitgenössische Musik einen zentralen Stellenwert für Donatienne Michel-Dansac ein. So arbeitete sie bereits 1988 erstmals mit Pierre Boulez und dem Ensemble Intercontemporain zusammen. Weitere Engagements führten sie zum Ensemble Ictus, zum Ensemble Itinéraire, zum Ensemble SIC, zur London Sinfonietta, zum Orchestre National de France und zum Tapiola Orchester Helsinki sowie zu Wien Modern und anderen renommierten Festivals für Neue Musik. Darüber hinaus verbindet die Sängerin seit 1993 eine enge Kooperation mit dem Ircam in Paris, die ihren Niederschlag in einer Reihe von Uraufführungen fand, an denen sie beteiligt war, darunter Kompositionen von Georges Aperghis, Luca Francesconi, Philippe Leroux, Philippe Manoury und Fausto Romitelli. Auf der Musiktheaterbühne war Donatienne Michel-Dansac u.a. in Georges Aperghis' Avis de Tempête und in der Video-Oper An Index of Metals von Fausto Romitelli zu erleben. Neben ihrem Engagement für die Musik unserer Zeit widmet sich die Künstlerin auch dem barocken Repertoire, vor allem in Zusammenarbeit mit William Christie und Les Arts Florissants. |
