In the oscillating inwardness of Scully’s painting, there is a musical horizon on which I focus my gaze and my ear. His works reveal themselves to me like a kind of material space full of light and sound, like a womb for a note, which is open to what is possible, like silent music.

In der vibrierenden Innerlichkeit von Scullys Malerei liegt für mich ein musikalischer Horizont, auf den ich meinen Blick und mein Ohr richte. Seine Werke offenbaren sich mir wie eine Art Raummaterie voll Klang und Licht, wie ein Mutterschoß für einen Ton, der offen ist für das Mögliche, wie schweigende Musik.
